We are holding a conference on 17 January 2027, in central London. Read on to find out more and book your tickets here.
The far right are on the march in Britain and around the world. Over the summer, we have seen the British far right movement enter into a new phase of organisation and activity. Black shirts on the streets of Dover and Portsmouth, thugs in Glasgow and the North East of England going door to door harassing migrants and near weekly protests threatening communities up and down the country. Patriot Platform have spent past weeks doing performative dawn raids on Muslim areas and picketing coach companies they believe transport migrants.
In some places, at times, the far right have been pushed back. The Carnival against Fascism and battle of Trafalgar Street in Brighton shows that the far right can be beaten in the streets. However, for the most part, the forces to defeat them nationally are either nascent and disorganised or stuck in a pattern of limited activity because of a historical alignment to the popular front politics of Stand Up to Racism and the Together Alliance. History has shown time and time again that politics is not up to the task at hand.
TUFF stands for a politics that confronts the far right directly - on the streets, in our workplaces and across society. We must present, and fight for, an alternative world. We believe in a society built on economic and social equality - and one which firmly rejects racism, transphobia and all scapegoating of minorities.
Defeating the far right requires a united front - socialists and trade unionists coming together to destroy the politics of the far right and can overcome them in the streets.
To that end, we are calling a conference of organisations which have a link and orientation to the labour movement and working class. We do not seek to replicate the models of stand up to racism conferences or together alliance assemblies. Our conference will model the democracy we need in a responsive and reflexive movement. We will have space for organising and workshops but primarily we must maintain class politics as the primary and look to, in so far as possible, build the shared aims of a joined up antifascist movement.
If you are a member of a trade union or an anti far right organisation that agrees with these basic aims, buy a ticket now and help us build a united front against the far right in the UK! Get your tickets here.
